📝 Ingredients
(Makes 1 large loaf – 9×5 inch pan)
360 ml (1½ cups) warm milk
2 eggs
3 tbsp oil
3 tbsp sugar
10 g (1 tbsp) instant dry yeast
3 cups (about 390–420 g) all-purpose flour
½ tbsp salt (≈ 1 tsp fine salt)
Optional glaze:
1 egg yolk + splash of milk
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Mix the Dough
In a large bowl, whisk together warm milk, eggs, oil, sugar, and yeast until smooth.
Add salt, then gradually stir in the flour using a spoon.
The dough will be very soft and sticky — that’s exactly how it should be.
2️⃣ First Rise
Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm place for 45–60 minutes, or until doubled in size.
3️⃣ Shape
Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
Gently stir the dough down to release excess air.
Pour it into the pan and smooth the top with slightly wet hands.
4️⃣ Second Rise
Cover and let rise again for 30–45 minutes, until puffy and just slightly above the rim of the pan.
5️⃣ Bake
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
Brush with egg yolk mixture if using for a glossy golden finish.
Bake for 35–45 minutes, until deeply golden and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
6️⃣ Cool
Let cool in the pan for 5–10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
